After a frigid winter, spring in Calgary is a welcome invitation to ditch that parka and get outdoors.

As the Bow River paths fill with walkers and cyclists, patios start to open and longer days bring more opportunities to get out and reconnect, we’re itching to bring on spring with events and activities that celebrate the best of the season.

Step outside and embrace the sunshine with this curated list of spring events in Calgary.

Beauty and The Beast Cocktail Experience. Starts March 24. Experience this theatrical, alternate reality experience that will take you into a world of fairytales! Over the course of 90 minutes, you will create two bespoke-themed cocktails while solving riddles and challenges to lift the curse and escape the enchanted castle. This is an escape room, a theatre show and an adventure all blended into one really fun experience!

Easter Extravaganza. April 8. Celebrate Easter in style at this event with over 65 unique vendors, free pictures with the Easter Bunny, treats for the kids, parking and much more! This is a fun event for the entire family to enjoy.

Broadway Across Canada: Pretty Woman The Musical. April 4–9. Based on one of Hollywood’s most beloved romantic stories of all time, this performance springs to life with a powerhouse creative team led by two-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell. Get ready to fall in love all over again.

Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella at the Pumphouse Theatre. April 14–22. Don’t miss this new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical about following your dreams, fighting for what’s right, and showing everyone that the real magic is kindness. Recommended for all ages!

Calgary’s Underground Film Festival. April 20–30. Calling all film fans! You won’t want to miss the 20th anniversary of the Calgary Underground Film Festival. This is one of Calgary’s most anticipated events for film fans and features a range of genres from horror, sci-fi and fantasy to comedies, thrillers and music-related films.

Calgary International Beerfest. May 5–6. Rated as one of the best beer festivals in the world. Serving 700+ beers from 200+ breweries, and with innovative destinations inside the festival, your biggest challenge will be deciding where to start. With a range of ciders, meads, and other beverages on offer, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

Mother’s Day Buffet Brunch. May 14. Celebrate Mother's Day with an incredible brunch buffet at the Grey Eagle Hotel Ballroom. Enjoy mimosas, free face painting and balloon animals. Kids 5 & under eat free! Reservations are required.

Lilac Festival. June 4. The annual Lilac Festival is a free event that marks the start of Calgary's vibrant festival season. Head over to 4th Avenue to shake off your winter blues with food, live music, drinks, local vendors and sun!

Grazers Dining Series at the Calgary Zoo. April 21, May 19, June 23. Get ready for a fun and social night out! Each evening will include a delicious dinner curated by executive chef Kenneth Titcomb with alcohol pairings from locally inspired partners, and guest speakers. This event is 18+.

Paint and Sip with Vin Gogh. Monthly. Spend time at Vin Gogh Paint and Sip Studio and experience a fun, professional and creative place where you are the artist! Tap into your creative side while enjoying our carefully curated wine selection. Various days, evenings and themes are available to choose from!
