TODAY’S THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
As the pandemic eases, workers have a new perspective and are choosing to leave their jobs in record numbers. When offices reopen in our soon-to-be post-pandemic world, there’s a chance they could still be mostly empty.
ON OUR MIND
In the staffing industry, we often hear from our clients “the candidate was not a cultural fit” OR “the individual didn’t fit in with our culture.” Recently, one of our candidates also expressed concern when she was told she was not selected based on “cultural fit.” Naturally, it’s easy to jump to the conclusion that ‘culture’ played a role in the decision.
At Altis, our values begin and end with people. When our CEO Kathryn Tremblay and her partner Toni Guimaraes began their entrepreneurial journey at age 21, they were equipped with nothing more than a business concept, a $7,500 Youth Venture Loan, and a goal: creating a people-centric way for employers to connect with job seekers.
Three decades later, Altis has grown into four unique brands that service Canadian employers coast-to-coast.
We’re more than just a staffing firm — we are a community of inclusive businesses and motivated job seekers. Our team of experts has the experience, industry knowledge, and relationships to respond to specific requirements in any of the following areas:
More than anything, we value bringing value. From giving career advice to young graduates to guiding employers on the path to a diverse and inclusive workplace, we consistently share new resources to help you grow.
One of our goals at Altis is to ensure equal opportunity to meaningful employment for all. We created our Newcomer Program in 2017 because we saw that far too often, skilled newcomers to Canada face systemic barriers when trying to gain a foothold here.
To help newcomers overcome the barrier of “Canadian experience,” we offer three-week paid internships in our company, providing them with hands-on career coaching, training, and valuable experience.
