Step 1: Prepare your resume for the Canadian market
Before applying for roles in Canada, you’ll need a resume that is optimized for the Canadian market. To help newcomers from Ukraine, we’ve summarized some Canadian resume tips and best practices–both in terms of content and layout—on our blog.
Step 2: Register as a candidate with staffing firms
In Canada, there is NO FEE to register as a candidate with a staffing firm. In fact, it’s against the law to charge a candidate a fee. We encourage you to register with two or three recruitment firms, including Altis Recruitment. Recruiters often have access to job postings that aren’t publicized and will help you find the best opportunities for you. Here’s how to register with our firm:
- Once you have a resume, register with our firm as a candidate.
- Then, start searching for and applying to our jobs HERE.

Step 3: Register with job search platforms and start your search
In addition to registering with recruitment firms, we recommend creating a profile and uploading your resume on multiple job search platforms such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Monster and more.
